Why does my sump pump keep sending a false alarm?
Sump pump false alarms are typically caused by flotation error. As a result of both air and water movement within the sump chamber, floats often get tangled due to rotation—triggering an alarm notification to the home or business owner. Even with weighted floats, rotation is a common problem particularly on installations with a float tether length of over 6 feet.
Why don’t you just install the float bracket deeper?
Having the float bracket installed deep in the pump chamber reduces the likelihood of floats tangling, but expensive confined space entry combined with annual training costs and equipment make this a poor option.
How does the FARMD-Bar System™ work?
Our patent pending design eliminates float tangling and rotation while maintaining ease of installation, testing and servicing. The Float Anti-Rotation & Movement Device was created specifically as a long-term solution to prevent Sump Pump false alarms.
Is the FARMD-Bar System™ easy to install?
Installation is simple. Begin by installing the FARMS-Bar System™ 3-6” above the highest weighted float. Then attach the Cord lock to each float cable and you’re done. Honestly, it’s that easy.
Can I retrofit an existing system with FARMD-Bar?
Absolutely. The FARMD-Bar retrofit system features horseshoe shaped slots designed to hold floats in place without the need to rewire the system, saving you time and money. The bar is available in flat or angled styles and works with either the Push Cord Lock or Rotation Cord Lock as its locking system.
